In helping someone set up their new iPhone, I'm at a prompt which says, "Safari would like to access your contacts". Does the community here have any strong feelings on this one way or the other? The user in question doesn't have any unusual security considerations, but at the same time, it's not intuitively obvious to me why Safari would need access to this info.

Would be interesting to find out the reasoning behind the request, but overall it's a personal decision--nothing wrong with it one way or another and just depends on if you would get something out of it that you might want or if you don't really care about it or perhaps have some concerns about it.

like what the above said... personal preference. personally, i wouldn't. why does safari need access to my contacts?

its a personal decision. Theres nothing wrong with allowing safari accessing your contacts. Its not like its going to be used for any dubious reason. It saves you from loosing them if your phone goes missing.
