All,

I jailbroke my 3GS with 3.1.2 using the Pwnage tool. I didnt upgrade the baseband to the latest 5.11 something (still on 4 something). My question is now that 5.11 has been cracked by blacksn0w, should i re-jailbreak my phone to update to the latest basband? Do you think that will improve my 3G and signal coverage? I know the baseband is like the internal modem of the phone and from what i can tell, ATT continually makes updates to it to improve coverage. But obviously do not want to go through process of having to rejailbreak it will not make a difference...

thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

I'm in exactly the same position as you. I've been reading tweets from Musclenerd and others and have decided there is no value in moving to the latest baseband. Combine that with the fact that my pwnage jailbreak has been worry-free, why risk it? Most seem to think that the bb upgrade was more about stopping unlocks than improvements.
