I'm getting a new iMac delivered today. It's coming with 8GB and I have 32GB of OWC memory waiting here to replace the 8GB with. I am also going to migrate my Macbook Pro Retina contents to the new iMac.

My question is: once unboxing the iMac, should I first replace the memory before turning it on for the first time, or should I turn it and (and probably get pushed right into migration) before swapping out the memory?

Probably doesn't really matter, but thought I should check.

Thanks.

It won't matter but the poster above me has a good point. Make sure it works good first so you know any problems aren't related to the new RAM.
