I purchased a Macbook Pro 2.2 from the ADC store, and after waiting for 3 weeks, finally got it. I've got the yellow Samsung screen, no dead pixels, but what looks like dust trapped in the screen. Its got the CPU whine, and the left palmrest isn't flush with the case and makes a creaking noise when I lay my hand on it. I'm really disappointed with Apple's recent quality inspection as my family and I have purchased numerous Apple products over the years and besides a couple issues here and there, have never had a product that had so many defects out of the box.
My dilemma is whether to demand an all new machine or take it to the local Apple store and repair it. I don't want to wait another 3 weeks for another computer, and judging from other posts and my recent experience, Apple's build quality is seriously lacking and there's no guarantee I'd get a better machine.
Has anyone else just had a brand new machine repaired? I wish I could just get a replacement in the store, but since I had an upgraded hard drive and its a ADC purchase, I doubt they would give me another one in the store. How long did your repair take and did it come back better?
