Apple just announced the 4/20 event, which most likely will introduce the next gen ipad pro. currently i have a 11" ipad pro bought from Costco and it's still returnable. should i return it and wait for the new one? i mostly using it for streaming movies. I got $100 off on the current ipad pro, figure it's worth while to trade in even though i have to pay full price for the new version.

It's up to you, but if I was in your position I absolutely would. This is supposed to be a pretty large jump in performance for the 11" and while it may not matter to you now, the age of the iPad will affect it's resale value later. If you plan to keep it until it breaks, then the new iPad will surely enjoy longer software support thanks to it's faster chip.
I would, I bet even if you don’t like the new one you’ll be able to find the 2020 one for $100 off.

Can't speak for OP but I'm moving from the 10.5" Pro to the 12.9" this time around as I plan to use the iPad as a laptop replacement. If it can really run Final Cut as the rumors have said (after WWDC) I will really have no need for my MacBook Pro.
will permanently replace my 2018 MacBook Pro with the 12.9”. And it’s so much better to watch movie on it compare to the 11”.
