ok so after a week of using it I notice the whinning noise on my macbok there is also a loud hiss from my adapter. Besides the whinning noises my macbook is perfect. Should I get apple to look at my macbook I heard they are replacing logic boards. The whine really doesn't bother me but if I don't get it fix is it going to damage my computer....also does the whine happen because of a defective part or what? I really don't wanna exchange for another one if there is nothing PHYSICALLY wrong with my macbook.

my girlfriends macbook has none of these symptoms.
no reason to settle for anything less

if you think it is a problem, then definitely take it back, no harm
Yea harm done, if they take it they will keep it for weeks. I don't really care about the noise I can barely notice it but I just want to know if it is a defect or not I don't want it to die on me months from now.

you bought a "quality" product when you could have bought a Dell, I say take it back and and make sure you get a flawless one

If you don't want the laptop away for weeks, and if you don't really care, then you can just opt not to send it back. Send it back at a later date when you can afford to be without your MB for a week or two. (like if you take a vacation) Eventually, though, get that thing fixed. At very least, it's going to hurt your resale value down the road.

Seconded. you should have a fully functioning piece of kit for the money you spent.

My MB Prob

I would say yes, My MacBook was a Gem till it started to smudge up. I sent it in the first time for them to replace the smudging, then when i got it back there was no video on the screen something was pinching the video wire when they replaced the bezel and the bezel outside the keyboard, then when i got it back after that the left side of the mouse button or "clicker" wouldnt work you had to hit it very hard to execute. So i sent it back for that took about a week and half and come to find out today they said i had a bad logic board and they were going to replace it. I'll let everyone know the details when i get it back in a day or so.

The whine will not damage your machine. I called Apple about a similar issue. Mine is quiet so I see no reason to send it back. The girl told me that it will do no damage to your machine. As for the power adapeter, I send that back and get a new magsafe connector. Depending on how loud it is, I wouldn't worry about it.

Agreed. No harm in letting Apple take a look at the machine and see if they can't fix anything, especially that hissing noise.
