I’ve got a 2013 MacBook Pro 15”. It has that defective dGPU and so it’s disabled.

I need a new laptop soon due to using cad, wanting to do light games, and just having issues with even booting windows.

should I buy a new laptop or order a new MOBO and fix this one?

I’ve read around and so far it’s people who got theirs fixed and the issue happened later on, but is this just a vocal minority complaining or is this something I should be worried about?

If you buy a new one, why fix the old one? If you fixed it already, no need to buy yet, right? Am I missing something?

It’s fixed as in, it’s disabled. So I can use it if it isn’t too graphic intensive. So no games

To me a 7 year old laptop is about 3-4 years past its replacement cycle. But replacing it will depend on your money now and if you need it for work.
