Well, the hardware is nice, the software however is terrible.

The only thing I can tell you is that my brother was in the market for a new phone, and I recommended him to get a 3GS, but he went with the HD2 because the hardware is better. After about a day he said he very much regretted it, because the software is just so unintuitive (compared to an iPhone) and there's barely any apps for it, and the apps that are out for it are a lot more expensive and not as good.

He's had it for about 3 weeks now and he says he still regrets it and he might sell it and get an unlocked iPhone.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

Why can't he just return it?

I think I can help you on this one, as I did the switch in January..here's what i thought...

The big screen to look at is stunning. It's sharp, bright and easy to read. However, in practice, I felt the handset to be too big, and was difficult to use with one hand, especially when walking.

The software is TERRIBLE. If Android were to be ported to the device it would be a big improvement, but the current OS is buggy, slow, freezes regularly and so on.

I am now back using my 3Gs. You really appreciate how good the iPhone is after using other phones!

If it will stop you from posting these worthless threads on this forum, then by all means YES!!!

Actually correct me if I'm wrong, but that phone will and can be updated to windows phone 7 when it comes out. Even if the software is terrible, it'll be good in the long run.

Don't do it...

I had a HTC HD2 and must admit the Sense UI is nice eye-candy but I stayed with it for only 4 weeks before going back to my old iPhone 2G! It was fun tweaking the thing with the help of XDA Developers but I just missed the iTunes management of my vast collection of music and backup facility. :(

The damn thing required resetting from time to time and even though the screen is gorgeous, it was too sensitive IMHO.

And, there is NO UPGRADE to Windows 7 Mobile... that's official if you read what Microsoft and HTC said in the last few weeks (All down to 'too many buttons' and something silly!). Maybe a XDA Developer hack later might solve this but that's a BIG IF.

Look at other Smartphone stuff... I'm waiting for the iPhone 4G!!! :D

Maybe... as confirmed at Engadget too but some folks are saying it was running under Remote Desktop connection (News Update 3). Would be great for many HTC HD2 owners if it was apparently true...

And here Engadget confirming the Windows 7 not coming to HD2...

I'll stay with the new iPhone in June! :)

Well thanks for all of the replys, they have been very helpful in my dicision. I think ima go wi the hd2. :D

:mad: ===> :apple:

Just give it a try, simply if you don't like it just return it and go back to the 3GS. Honestly if you have ever tried a phone other then an iPhone. Anything else will most likely feel clunky and just not as smooth as what you're used to. It's all about user functionality when it comes down to it. The ease of the iPhone is the main reason people use it, with the HD2 I don't believe its going to be so easy. Just try it and let us know how you feel about it, :)
