Even though its insured for water damage and accidental damage?

I have a 32GB 3G S and can get the extra year Applecare for around $49 USD although the insurance company I am with offer water damage, accidental damage, malicious damage (providing its not done by you), and if it's lost or stolen.

If any of the above happen it'll cost me roughly $50 excess to get a new one from the insurance company.

Is it justifyable to get applecare or should I just stick to the insurance?

Your insurance I doubt will cover software failures etc that may come from the OS etc that Apple would handle and with Apple care will handle LONG after the initial year.

IMHO it's best if you get it.

AppleCare is worth it for me. AppleCare delivers one extra year warranty in case your phone happens to have something wrong with it's hardware.

However, it provides no coverage for accidental damages (like getting it wet). So, the question if you should get AppleCare is entirely up to you if it fits what you need.

It covers any hardware problem.

Only one it doesn't cover is software.

Which I guess means i'm not 'immune' to any problem:(.

I might buy it this week, just gotta weigh it up. Although I guess $50 isnt that bad for an extended year warranty.

You could always wait until your first year is almost up and then decide, that's what I'm doing for my 3G, I have another month to decide.

Thats the best bet and check the two moisture detectors that you can see before you spend money on Applecare, if they changed color save your money because they will refuse to fix anything on your phone as they will blame it on water damage.

Remember, Applecare is not insurance. It won't replace your iPhone if it is lost or stolen and it won't replace the iPhone if you crack the screen or run it over in the car. It only replaces the phone if it's due to a manufacturing defect or problem with the software.

search Applecare

you will find allot of info on it here both good and bad then you can decide what you think. Also if you do decide to get it search Applecare on Ebay you will find better prices there just make sure it's a good seller etc. you can always check on line with Apple to ve4rify you have it.

I have a few days to decide :D I'll probably head down to the Apple Store and pick some up in a day or two. For peace of mind
