Should I update Redsn0w 0.7.2 to 0.8? (iPhone 3G)

Is 0.8 mainly to help the 3GS crowd or is it recommended for everyone to update? If I do update should I just run Redsn0w or restore my phone and run it like I did the first time I jailbroke?

I searched this site and others but couldn't find an answer. The 0.7.2 release was the first time I jailbroke and I'm just not sure what to do now.
