I recently got an 8 Plus which is on 11.0, I wonder if Apple added throttling feature in later versions of 11 for iPhone 8?

Should I update to latest? I’m afraid I don’t want my phone to be throttled!

11.2.6 is not throttling the 8/8+.

Throttling mostly applies to older devices so you’re fine. Upcoming iOS will have the feature to disable throttling which is near the end of beta development

It's pretty unlikely 11.3 releases today with a 10.13.4 beta having been released yesterday.

My 8 plus updated on its own without permission?? Wanted to jb at some point but that likely won’t happen anytime in the near future now

Generally speaking you want to avoid early releases of an OS (if anything) and it will get better as it goes on - of course there are exceptions (I think it was one version of 8 that bricked some iPhones?) but you'll hear about problems like that through the grapevine pretty quickly!
