Should I update to Sonoma MBA M1 8GB

Hi,

I have MBA M1 8GB and I am thinking how would the Sonoma update with its all new features affect the performance of my Mac. I love the performance on Ventura, but bearing in mind that the laptop doesn’t have the highest specs I am worried that it may stutter and lag with the new heavier OS.

Sono9ma doesnt seem to be any slower whatsoever on either of my apple silicon machines. In fact, in some ways its a bit more responsive with the framework changes under the hood

I have the same model and shall be updating tomorrow. I've been running Sonoma in a VM since the early developer betas.

I have a base M2 Mini and installing Sonoma is the first thing I will do tomorrow when I get back from work.

I have the same model and it works great with Sonoma, I've been using it since the first beta release. And you can have the weather on your desktop which is handy.

My general rule is to wait until a week after the x.1 update.

You can always try Sonoma on an external SSD before upgrading the internal drive.
