I have a 2020 Intel (i7) MBP with 4 ports. I'm feeling the temptation to upgrade to the M3 Pro or M3 Max. I use my laptop mostly for watching movies, Internet browsing, spreadsheets, that kind of thing, so shouldn't be an issue at all. However, I do virtualization for Windows, Mac OS X Snow Leopard (using VMWare Fusion), and older Mac OS X, as well as classic Mac OS 9, through QEMU.
I understand there's a QEMU application for Silicon, and people were able to virtualize Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and earlier on Silicon, but how about Snow Leopard? Would I lose the ability to virtualize Snow Leopard on M3?
Overall, would you say the upgrade is worth it? I'd love the better-quality webcam and deeper integration, and I've noticed my MBP is starting to feel/seem a bit slower (even with a fresh install of Sonoma).
Thanks!
