Should I Upgrade my iPad Mini 2 to an iPad Pro?

Hello,

I've been thinking of upgrading my iPad mini 2 to a iPad Pro 10.5 or iPad. What do you think? Is it a large difference? There's nothing wrong with my iPad mini 2 just thinking the new models will be faster and better resolution.

Yes, I would highly suggest the 10.5, it's bigger, faster and can do more

I have a Mini 2 and a 2017 12.9 Pro. The Mini 2 is really beginning to lag and so you'll see the huge speed difference between the two.

But, that being said, I couldn't replace my Mini 2 with anything but a Mini 4!

I was sorta hoping that Apple was gonna sneak in an ipad mini pro at todays iphone event. It was a long shot, but i figured they announced the ipad 4 at the iphone event 2 years ago. But, alas...it was not to be. I also have an ipad mini 2. I want to use the apple pencil, so upgrading to the mini 4 is not an option. Not to mention that the mini 4 is already 2 years old. So looks like it'll be the 10.5" ipad pro for me. I will hold onto my mini tho.

They are two different devices, very different. I bought the 10.5 to replace my MacBook Air, but the mini 2 stays, and I still use it daily. The smaller form factor does make it more practical. It's why I'm really really hoping Apple would update the line.

What are you using your iPad mini for? If you're just reading or doing light web browsing, then it should keep working fine. If you're doing anything more demanding, or if you're just feeling like the mini is sluggish, then yes, upgrade. I held on to my iPad mini 2 while holding out for an "iPad mini Pro," but it never came. I use my iPad in the professional setting, so the lag, lack of TouchID, and reloading of applications as I toggled between them was costing me too much time. The iPad Pro 12.9" was too big (but I tried!), so I settled on the 9.7" Pro model. The larger size took a bit of getting used to, but it works for me. I upgraded about a year ago; the newer models (10.5" and 12.9" only; 9.7" hasn't been updated since my purchase) are sure to be even faster.

iPads are typically announced during Apple's October event. Not sure if they'll get any attention this time around, considering that the 10.5" was just released, but if you want to wait another five or so weeks you could see if the mini gets any further updates.

Apple has a generous return policy. Get what you are interested in, see if it works for you and if not return it.
