Hi, I have a 2010 Macbook air base model (1.4 GHz C2D/2GB) and am wondering if I should upgrade to Mountain Lion next month. I like the new features in Mountain Lion but I am thinking I might be better off sticking with Snow Leopard because of my specs. I mainly use my Macbook Air for internet browsing, streaming video (netflix/youtube), word processing, and listening to music through iTunes. How will performance, battery life, heat and fan noise be affected if I upgrade to Mountain Lion? Thanks for your help!

Your specs are fine. If Lion runs well, so will ML. There is little if any difference between them in that respect.

Edit: I see that you are on SL, not Lion. My battery life on my MBP took a small hit with Lion, and it's not much better in ML. But that's just anecdotal, you might not notice a difference.
