I currently have a 17" C2D Macbook Pro, I am very tempted to upgrade to the new iMac.

I won't need the portability in the next few months and will be working from home rather than going into the office, but it is nice to have the portability in the house.

My fiancee has one of the Core Duo iMac and xBench says it is faster overall because of the hard drive even though i have a faster processor and more ram. In fact is does seem just as fast if not a little faster, and it cost over £500 less.

I think I could sell my Macbook Pro and have enough money to by a 20" iMac, may even put a little extra in for the 24".

What do you think?
Remember i dont need portability anymore, so is it going to be worth the hassle?

If the two biggest things was a larger screen and not needing portability then I'd say go for it. The MBP is more a computer then the iMac, but with the possible Apple event on 08/07 everything could change. There is the possibility that the imac will be seeing a big update. I would wait until then, and then you can choose to trade computers or just stick with the MBP
