Hi, im about to repaste my Northbridge soon, so here is the question: should I use ANY washers? Could I use steel bolts?

Tutorials around internet says 16mm 3M washers, some places steel bolt, some places nylon, some places a mix of metal washer, spring bolt, nylon washer whatever..

Here is a link of Ifixt

What should I use? any problem to use a simple screw? bolt and nut? Washer ?

why? because here in Brazil is very difficult to find the specific one that is recommended

Thanks

See #34 or buy your own bolts and nuts, I'm going to also add an aluminium foil tape, as shown in #1.

IMO the most important thing is to use the original springs that are installed .
Personally I use nylon M3X16mm bolts and nuts with nylon washers, but metal will work fine too.
The washers are for the springs to have a flat and bigger surface (under the screwhead).
Try to maintain the same distance between screwhead and heatsink as before the replacement.
