Hello I need a iMac i am the starter on AE And premiere pro. I want to buy 2020 iMac i7 10th generation with 8GB Amd GPU. I will upgrade the ram 64 as an starter. Do you think this system can save me for 5-6 years in the future? Or Should I wait for new iMac. If your advice is to wait i have some suspections about new iMac's ram capability because as you know new m1 products doesn't have enough ram to upgrade and also there is no updated for AE on m1 chips yet.

To give an estimation about one of your questions: I think that Intel Macs will be supported by macOS until around 2027. This is because usually Apple supports its devices for at least five years, and Intel Macs are definitely sold in 2021 and probably until 2022, so there is 2021/2 + 5 = 2026/7. These would be your 5 to 6 years in that regard.

The other aspects will be covered by people with a use case similar to yours 😇

How soon do you need to make your decision? Most here expect an Apple product announcement sometime in March, which may or may not include a new iMac. Why not simply wait for a couple of weeks.

Also, just because the first laptop M1 models were limited in RAM choice does not mean that the iMac will have the same situation.

Exactly you are right. I have three weeks ... We can see on the launch of March.
