With the release of Leopard right around the corner (well somewhat), I am just wondering if it is a smart time to buy a Macbook (looking at the higher up model).

Are there rumors that we will be seeing new Macbooks soon?

A MacBook update could be tomorrow, at WWDC (June), at the Leopard Release in October, or anywhere in between. ...We just don't know.

If you don't need it now, I recommend waiting.

if you buy it now and they release one in June, will you want that one instead? what about if it's October?

if yes, wait - you apparently don't need it now or you're not willing to buy now if an update is looming.

however, there will always be something better coming up. there is nothing wrong with the current lineup. the machines are very capable, will last many years, and will perform amazingly. i would not advise against getting one now but it obviously depends on how long you're willing to wait before an update is announced.

Rumors are rumors until Apple announces.

Leopards not going to be out for almost half a year. The current MBs are great systems.

There are rumors of marginally faster chips, much faster graphics cards, and maybe better screens.

The current MBs are very fast, graphics for non-3D gamers are exceptional, battery life is OK, and size and build quality.

If you always want the best system available, you'll never be happy.

But the current MBs? They're excellent. I've had one since November.

I waited and waited and finally got tired of waiting. I bought a MacBook 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy with it! I know changes are close but there will always be something better just around the corner. Just my 2 cents.

It isnt that I want the best ever...I just was thinking of Leopard and not having to pay for the upgrade when it comes around.

I think I will wait until late June to decide if I want to wait or not. I am not in desperate need of one at the moment but it would be nice this summer if I had one that I could keep up on work with during my infrequent travels.

if you're waiting for Leopard, you'll be waiting until at least October. no reason to wait until June to realize that, Apple's already said it.

I am not really waiting for leopard, it is just alot of money to spend then have the new OS come out, it is just such a hard decision to wait or not to wait.
