I am looking to get AirPods max and/or AirPods Pro. These aren’t the same yearly cycles as iPhones and Apple Watch etc so im wary spending that much if they will be refreshed soon. Its been a really long time since both AirPods max and the AirPods Pro launched… are there any rumors of refresh soon?

While there is no way of knowing, I haven't even seen the Apple rumor mongers spread rumors about the next AirPods Max yet). Am I spreading anti-rumors? ?

The fact is I love my AirPods Max, even after the honeymoon period! I own several BT and wired headphones (using wired with desktop headphone amplifiers/DACs). So I think it is fair to say I am not so easily impressed (given that BlueTooth headphones right now can't truly top a decent wired rig). But Apple, I'm impressed with the AirPods Max!

My philosophy is why deprive yourself of a great headphone while waiting for version #2. Listening to music, and using them for movies has been a great listening experience.

I truly hope the AirPods Max do not go the way of the HomePod, or Apple decides to turn it into just another Beats style brand. Sorry Beats lovers.

In the meantime life is short, if you can spend the money I'd say go for the AirPods Max. Maybe in the end it will be a "one of its kind". I truly hope not. But in the meantime using the AirPods Max is well worth it if you are looking for a premium over the ears, BlueTooth headphone!

The max came out less than a year ago. The pros have been out 2 years. If we look at the base AirPods, it took them 2.5 years to come out with an evolutionary, not revolutionary, update. An update to the max is likely a ways off. Bloomberg says to expect a new version of the pros in 2022 which fits the base AirPods timeline.

Zero reason to wait on the Max and likely little reason to wait on the Pros. The Max are still under a year old and it isn't clear if they have been successful. So not only is a revision likely a ways off, but who knows if they ever get one and if they do, what that may look like. For the Pros, they are likely nearing some sort of revision. However, I am not really sure what they could do to improve them. Looking at the regular AirPods, their revision was minor to say the least.

I would wait on the Pro's for a potential upgraded model without the rattling issues. I have replaced mine 3 times.

I recently purchased some AirPods Pro and I definitely think I am going to hold on to them most places are selling them at about $200 right now and I think it was a steal.

I don't know about the pros, but what could they possibly add to the Max? All I can think of is USB-C, but I think the Max may end up being the next HomePod anyway...

I’m interested in buying some Pros to replace a pair of Power Beats Pros that are acting up. I may just pull the trigger or maybe not. ?
