I've got a TV in my room/workroom, and I use it primarily for color correction in my independent films. It takes up a desk corner unit in the room. I was contemplating the idea of wall mounting it to save space, and possible put something else in its place (printer/all-in-one, etc.)

What do you guys think?

Here are a couple of pictures:

Yeah! Why not? How well does that Emerson do with color? I never expected an indie filmmaker would use an Emerson. I guess if it works! :)

The idea of this monitor (for me at least) is to get something relatively close to a standard family tube TV. That way I can do multiple passes of color work. One for accurate color, one for the web, and one for tube TV sets.

is the tv hooked up to your imac? If so how?
It might be annoying to look up, depends how much you need it.

I edit wedding videos/DVDs, compared to any other wedding DVD producers in the region this stuff is pretty top notch, believe it or not we use that same Emerson TV for color correction. Wall mounting fat TVs can be a pain, I would suggest getting like a stand so you can put things under it and not have to go through the trouble of wall mounting.

Oh. Ok. That's cool. I thought the 20" iMac and all the ACDs were designed for that work and were as close as possible? Is it just nice to have that peace of mind?

i also think you should just get a stand to put on top of your desk taht way you can fit stuff underneath,, but it s up to you, it seems like you like wall mounting a lot of things...haha:p

No.....I think you should put it back in the box it came in and send it to me. :D

Actually, you have it in a corner. If you plan on doing a corner mount I would say "no." If you plan on mounting it on a flat wall I would say "yes."

I work in a hi-end TV shop on saturdays, and they always say that you shouldn't put a TV high up. When you sit in a chair and look straight ahead of you, your eyes should more or less line up with the top of the screen, unless you have a 50" TV or above when you should be seeing just below the centre of the screen.

Otherwise you get really terrible neck cramp...

I would maybe look for those entertainment centers with built in lcd mounts and put it on that if you care about your walls, if not go with monoprice.com, they have cheap and durable wall mounts.

Most definitely, I have never been happier after I wall mounted my 42" LG - looks stunning.

It has a modern look and feel, cleans up the entire space.
