I have a 2015 iPad pro 12.9. In the box was a 10W charger (I'm in UK), should it not be a 12W one?

Oh dear... I'll refrain from answering this one the way I want to.

Officially it should have a 12W charger in the box that will perform better than a 10W.
[doublepost=1504375623][/doublepost]And congrats! The 2015 12.9 is a beast still 2 years later. Enjoy it.

Sorry not sure what you mean in first sentence.

I thought came with a 12W or should anyway, I know there is a 29W one convert to USB-C or something as well but thinking of getting the Logitech base smart connector charger and can only use the included charger anyway.

It was a 10W in box, wasn't new though just thought I'd check before asking him.

It's a strange plug in UK but has got the 10W on the bottom...

It is a beast mind, size wise anyway ha ha thanks, looking for a good TV app as want to use it in kitchen for a TV on the base as well

Sorry to be so cryptic. I started a thread last week wondering about why Apple doesn't ship it with the 29W charger.

I've used all three chargers. The 29W "feels right" for the 12.9 iPad. It is quick and charges no matter what you are doing on the iPad. The others will get the job done overnight, both considerably slower and the 10W especially so.

Technically isn't there a chance the 10W charger will overheat because the iPad is trying to draw more power than the charger can handle? Maybe some others here with more technical understanding will be able to explain.

Yeah, these iPads should really come with the 29 watt charger. 4 hours is a long damn time for a full charge with a 12 watt charger.

That being said, the 12.9” iPP Gen 1 shipped with a 12 watt. The 9.7” IPP shipped with a 10 watt charger.

Technically it can't over heat with lower charge. That's not how electricity works. The power brick limits the voltage. So the device will charge slower, that's all there is.

So as mine came with a 10W is it worth me buying a 12W to use with the Logitech base charger stand (uses the smart connector so can't get the 29W one)

Thanks

There is a difference in charging time for sure and you'll notice it but if it's worth or not that's your personal opinion.

As it's going to be on smart connector charger I think I'll see how goes. It won't charge while using it on the charger, but will once asleep, and so it should last all day for charging overnight.

I'll see if I see a 12W for sale, or I could use a 3rd party I have, I believe in UK the 2.1A is the 10W and the 2.4A is the 12W. I have a branded Mu which puts out 2.4A?

If it came with the 10W charger, I'd take it to the Apple Store and confirm if that wasn't a mistake.

As for Apple bundling something more than 12W, yeah sure...they should.
