Pretty much every file I have is 1080p, made from blurays, and made using handbrake high (with the deinterlacing filters turned off).

I've been running it at 60hz, but suddenly wonder if I'm doing myself a disservice because the files are 30fps.

TV is set to pixel by pixel 1080p ;)

The correct answer is: EXPERIMENT! See which one looks best for your eye.

Some new TVs have frame interpolation that makes the motion look smoother. If you prefer that, change the setting to a higher frame rate. If you don't, try a lower frame rate. There is no "correct" answer.

60 or 30 should give you the same picture. any multiple of 30 should (120 or 240 also)

If the blu-rays are movies they are 24 fps and you're not doing yourself any favours by re-encoding them at 30 fps.
