Since the new Macbook Pro's have them. Not will they come out with an expensive Magic Ribbon keyboard for desktops?

I was thinking exactly the same. I imagine that the touch bar will reduce battery life, but I could live with that.

MacBook Pro exclusive for a while, then maybe; I'm not optimistic it'll be released with the next generation of iMac. Sure would be a tempting accessory to get for an existing iMac.

Yes, I think it may be a possibility in 2017. Part of a revitalization of the Apple desktop computing offerings (long needed!)

That type of keyboard along with the rumored Apple displays with built-in GPUs would be ideal to announce at same time as new Mac Minis and Mac Pro. The keyboard could be offered (or standard) with new re-designed iMacs.

If this type of big shakeup doesn't happen in 2017, then I would have to say that Apple has given up on desktop computing.
