So this has been bugging me for about a month now so I figured its time for a post about it. On my sisters iMac, for some reason the icon previews for pictures don't show up, they are just white empty file icons.
Now let me start from the beginning, when I installed Tiger onto the iMac G5 all pictures were associated with Color Sync for some reason (This didn't happen when I upgraded my G4 iMac though). So I figured the problem with the icons was because the pictures were opening with Color Sync, so I changed all the pictures (jpeg, jpg, tiff, etc...) to open with Preview. Still a no go. The odd thing is, I copied over a bunch of wallpapers from my G4 and like 6 out of 100 show a thumbnail preview, and even when I turn off 'Show icon preview' from View Options those 6 icons still stay on.
So I don't know what to do here, I searched other threads, even deleted launchservices plist files and rebooted as suggested in another thread, and still nothing. This is really starting to bug me. I included an attachment picture of the general problem below. This is bugging me to no end. If it was mine I'd probably just reinstall Tiger to see if it fixed the problem, but my sister is reluctant to let me do that. Help.
