I have an iPhone SE running iOS 10.1.1.

Sometimes the lock screen tells me I missed a call. Sometimes it does not. This is before swiping to reveal the widgets. I press the Home button, and immediately see "Missed Call." But sometimes I've missed a call and this message does not show up. I have to unlock the phone to go to the Home screen to see if there's a number on the Phone icon indicating a missed call.

How do I make the phone always show on the lock screen if there's a kissed call? I want to be able to just press the Home button to show the first lock screen to see if I've missed a call, rather than having to unlock the phone to see. I'd even settle for seeing it after swiping to show the Lock Screen widgets. But since fingerprint ID is kind of flaky and does not always work on the first try, it's nice to know if there's been a missed call without having to unlock the phone.

Thanks for any help.

You would normally see a missed call notification on the lock screen if you missed a call while the phone was locked and you haven't unlocked it since then. If you unlock the phone and then lock it again then the notification--like any other lock screen notification--would no longer be on the lock screen (although it would still be there in the Notification Center as well as a badge on the app icon, assuming those are enabled).
