My wife uses iOS 14 on her iPhone 7 plus, as I do on my iPhone 11. On both telephones, if one goes to"Show my caller ID," there is no toggle-switch shown, but instead a small daisy-wheel spinning around and around. Despite that, my telephone does show my caller ID, while hers does not show her caller ID. Instead, what it shows is merely her email-address. How can this be put right ?

Where is this particular setting located? It could be related to something on carrier side of things.

I took a look at my phone settings and Show My Caller ID isn’t there. Searched in settings for it and it shows that it should be there, but the link doesn’t take me to it. Weird. Is this a carrier thing? I’m on Verizon, post paid.

I realise now that the reason for which her telephone appears not to show her callerID is as follows. I recently had to do a Reset on her telephone, since when her caller ID is in fact shown, but, instead of its being her telephone-number as formerly, it is now her Apple ID. Her recipients generally have not got the latter in their Contacts, hence the impression that her caller ID is not shown. However, the difficulty remains that neither of us can toggle Show My CallerID on or off, for the simple reason mentioned, namely that the link shows only the spinning daisy-wheel instead of the toggle-switch.

Have you tried checking on all of it from carrier side of things (perhaps via an app or web site)?
