A bit much for my taste, as I myself am more of a minimalist.
But I get it if you have to use a PC.

I plan on picking up a new M2 iPad Pro when they launch hopefully today and get some inspiration from this thread as the setups look awesome. How are things with Stage Manager, do you think it will come back with the official release of iPad OS 16?

What do you mean come back? Stage manager is still in...

I just updated to 16.1 Beta 10. I was on 15.7 but used to be on earlier 16 betas and Stage manager has improved a lot but not sure yet if I will use it much.

Sorry, I meant with External Display Support. I have read that it has been taken out for now at least?

So, you only use an iPad? No other computer?

Apple plans to bring it back, but no word on when that would be, my guess beginning next year. But I'd love to be wrong and they release beta iPadOS 16.1.x or 16.x with external display support this month.

Word from apple had been clear on this.
Later this year. So I think 16.2 it will return.

At this point I run my iPad as my main device. I still can swap out the iPad for my MacBook in this setup, but 90% of the time I’m working on my iPad.

You are correct. I just looked at the statement... I thought Apple stated later on, but instead stated "later this year."

I use my iPad majority of the time... but occasionally I'll use the PC and I don't have to swap out anything. But I like your minimalist approach.

It’s interesting that they specifically mention external display support in their new product YouTube video.

Are you using shiftscreen? How do you feel with it?

No, im using the external display support from iPadOS 16 beta earlier releases before it was temporally disabled.

Im feeling really comfortable with it.
I think this is a big step forward as soon as it launches app dev. will release better apps taking advantage of the fact you have multiple screens and windowed options.

May I ask what are your activities on it?
Aside from recording my podcast and building my website's I use it for everything.

Editing my podcast and videos (lumafushion)
Editing my websites (online tools baked into the websites I build)
Gaming (GoDm & Sonic with PS5 controller)
Work (mostly web based applications, but also office suite)
Entertainment (Netflix etc.)
Indoor cycling (Zwift)
Note taking for college (Notability)
Typingout my assignments (Pages)

Yeah I'm waiting Apple to restore external display support. Unfortunately I have upgraded ipadOS16 to the latest beta and then RC.

Yeah, they gave M1 iPad users the short end of the stick… which can’t quite comprehend because M1 iPad users are the power users!

No shade to the A12X/Z iPad users, but if they didn’t upgrade to the M1 iPads… do they really take the iPad platform that serious? I’m still baffled by Apple decision.

If you can find the lats ISPW that had external display support enabled you can restore that one.
That's what I did one day after updating to the first one that had it disabled.

Looks very cool! I just got an iPad Air myself which has been great so far but I could never use iPad to replace my iMac or MacBook Air for work.

How do you feel Stage Manager on your release? I'm asking because before RC my Stage Manager wasn't so good and has some very annoying bug.
