my ical has a weekly event, but if i show an event as completed, all future events change to completed. how do i show that only today's event was completed, next week is still a to do?

2 1/2 months with no reply; if anyone moderates this, please delete my question. thanx.

I for one don't even understand your question:

- how do you show an iCal event as completed ?
- how can an iCal event be a to do ?
- perhaps you refer to Reminders ?

Either way:
- if you DELETE a repeating iCal event, you should get a dialog box to confirm deletion of a) this instance or b) all future instances
- if you CHECK AS COMPLETED on a repeating reminder, this reminder will redefine itself to popup on the next date (one week further)

GerritV: sorry a poorly worded question, you comment " if you CHECK AS COMPLETED on a repeating reminder, this reminder will redefine itself to popup on the next date (one week further)." Do you mean the future dates are redefined as completeed? I want to avoid that. My iCal does list "to do" as a calendar, I named it that way.
Thanx for responding.

What I tried to say is: a repeating Reminder only shows once in the Reminders app. Once its due date has come, it will move itself to the Today smart list (but merely as an instance). Once you check it off as done, the instance will move to the Completed Reminders, while the original repeating reminder will simply remain in the app - only now with the next due date.
I'm atttaching a screenshot of my Reminders list "Routines".

One may wonder to what extend a task is a reminder, or in fact a calendar item. I myself created a thread about it not so long ago.
