Hey everyone! Shows 1.1 just got approved and is now on sale!

Shows keeps track of when and where your favorite artists are performing.

Shows is the only app that focusses on artists and not simply on upcoming concerts in your area. Make sure you never miss the next time one of your favorite artist is performing near you.

Shows is also the only app that gets it data from MySpace, the first place where artists announce upcoming concerts. Last.fm is good for many things, but not for accurate, complete and up-to-date concert listings!

Shows 1.1 features:
• Simple and intuitive interface
• iPod Artists Import & Syncing
• Local Shows (with distance slider)
• Offline browsing (internet is required only to add artist)
• Google Maps integration (automatic city locating)
• Distance of every show from your current location
• Data retrieved from MySpace
• Artists search powered by Google

As a longtime Jambase.com (and now Jambase for iPhone) user, I'm curious to know what differentiates your app from the Jambase app?

Thanks,

Good question.

MySpace listings are way more accurate than anything else. MySpace is very often the artist's official website. Compared a few artists (forgive my tendency for electronic music):

Crystal Castles: MySpace/Shows: 11 concerts, JamBase: 3 concerts
Mr. Oizo: MySpace/Shows: 2, JamBase: 1
Royksopp: MySpace/Shows: 14, JamBase: 9
Vitalic: MySpace/Shows: 24, JamBase: 0;
Wax Tailor: MySpace/Shows: 51, JamBase: 39

I could go on.. but I think you get the point. I haven't tried out the app itself (did a quick search in the App Store and couldn't find it), but data is clearly more accurate and up-to-date using MySpace/Shows.

what about following your favorite artist on twitter?

Is that a feature request? How about following them with your favorite Twitter app? :p

EDIT: there will probably be some Twitter integration in the near future, but not for following artists directly.
