i burned a few DVD's to my harddrive and now i want to burn them to a blank DVD. each movie is like 7 GB and i dont want to have to buy the Dule Layer DVD's so does anyone know of a good program that will shink the file size but wont do much dammage to the picture quality or get rid of the good sound?
thanx

I use Mac the Ripper and DVD2OneX. Mac the Rippers rips the DVD into VOB files and DVD2OneX compresses the video.

There is virtually no noticable degredation to the human eye when you compress the DVDs.

Of course I only duplicate movies that I create or own.:D

As for sound quality, I know DVD2oneX doesn't compress the sound, so it's as good as the original, don't know about popcorn/toast 7, but I'd image it would be the same. Sorry no knowledge of free ones.

Free?!?!?!? Where?!?!? <franticly reading posts...>

Alright...I see no free way to do this.

Look at the link in my post two down as I believe one was free (check the stickies as some people have links in the tutorials and if I remember some were free but maybe not anymore).
Okay there was a program that could be used in OS 9 that was free but it is no longer listed on anyones stickies so the best bet is DVD2oneX or Popcorn. Sorry for the confusion khisayruou ;) I was thinking about HandBrake.
