I recently bought a 5g shuffle for workouts and i noticed the sound quality is less powerfull then my nano 4g, is this possible or is it a factory defect?

Are you sure it's a 5th gen shuffle? The current generation is 4th.

It shouldn't sound worse than the Nano.

I've had a shuffle lose its oomph after a restore. A second restore brought the oomph back.

I've also felt the need to restore a Nano out of the box as it were.

Sounds daft, but it's worked for me.
