Does anyone know which (if any) HTPC software gives me the ability to organise my TV shows on my hard drive and create a playlist of, say, 20 different TV shows, and have random episodes from those play?

iTunes does something similar, but trying to get 500GB worth of TV shows to work with iTunes is pretty much out of the question. I've used a bit of XBMC and a bit of Plex, but both of those seem to require me to manually pick another episode when one is done (unless I'm missing some setting). I'd love to be able to do the same with Netflix, but I'm guessing that'd be hard.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I should point out that I plan on keeping my movies and TV shows on my laptop, but I'll likely be getting an ATV soon as well, if that makes a difference.

I don't think there is a stock funtion to do that, but XBMC have a large and great community, you may get better luck on their forums, someone may had a script or addon that can do that. that is one of the beauty of Open source community.
