G'day,

The past 2 mornings, when I have gone to wake my MacPro5,1, I found it either had restarted itself and was on the login screen, or then this morning it was just simply off, and had to be powered up.

I sleep the computer after 30 minutes, and it's only ever done this (at least, the restart) when there has been a general power failure - ie my alarm clock will be flashing because the whole house suffered a power failure. However - the past 2 days there has been no such general failures...

Is this a sign of a pending power supply failure?

Cheers

any changes to peripherals, or cancelled print jobs lately?
No...

Today I actually re-connected my Firewire 2bay raid enclosure so I could run Time Machine for first time in 2 months... it has caused the MacPro issues during start up (halts on the white screen)... but wasn't connected when it had these restarts.

Start checking the RTC BR2032 voltage, replace it with another BR2032 if the battery is below 3.00V.

Coming back to this...

Haven't checked the battery yet.. but just looking in Console - at/about the time of the crashes (or the reboot when I turn back on..) there's a "blued"[xx].crash" being recorded, and also every few seconds the computer is giving a locationd[xx].crash.

Would either of those be relevant?

I'll check the battery when I get home tonight. The computer has crashed 8 times over the weekend, so it's ramping up... but still it ONLY happens when I am away from the computer (so far at least).

Cheers
