A friend of mine runs the music for our University athletic games off of his Powerbook and iPod Nano. So he is very proud of how iTunes can run the entire show, and all while he webcasts the game onto the internet with the same powerbook. One day everything was going along just fine as he was playing the National Anthem before the game. The players all lined up and serious. The music at full volume. And smack in the middle of it: "Your buddy JOHN SMITH is available" rings out and then "Your buddy JANE WALTERS is available" and then "You have an instant message from JANE WALTERS!". And before he could turn off the iChat alerts he got "You have an audio chat invitation from JOHN SMITH!" At full volume right over the National Anthem, which was still playing.
Every one of the fans just wanted to crack-up laughing, but couldn't because it was just too serious a moment, being the national anthem and all. They did laugh along with the cheers for the teams as the anthem ended. My friend was very embarrassed, and vowed to never leave iChat's Speaking alerts on again.
