I have a small issue concerning shutting down my MBA. It did it before and after my ML upgrade. So when I tell it to shut down, sometimes I close the lid right after that. It's frustrating that if I open it back up later, it only then shuts down. Is there a way I can make it continue shutting down with the lid closed?

Also, sometimes when I turn off my computer, it doesn't require a password when I turn it back on. It is set to require a password after an hour, but after many hours of being off, it doesn't require a password. Should I just disable automatic login?

Thank you for any help!!

Just wait until it shuts down and then shut the lid.

Yes.

Shutting the lid halts whatever is happening, be it iTunes or the shutting down process. Then it resumes when you open the lid. Either don't turn the system off and just close the lid, or wait a little while before closing the lid after having told it to turn off.

The timed password requirement doesn't come into play when you boot the computer, so yes, that would be a good idea. Or an argument to why you should stop turning off your system and just close the lid ;)
