From my front lawn, about 150 miles north of the Cape. Wish I had a better telephoto lens...anyone have $2,000 they don't need? Both of these are 5 second exposures at f/4.8.

Wow, I live in Florida and have always wanted to see a shuttle launch. I bet a night launch is awe inspiring!

Aaww, was the launch tonight? Or did they go ahead with the launch Thursday? I havn't been paying much attention. Either way I missed it, and I really wanted to see a night launch. :(

It was broadcast live here (very unusual), I think it was because there is a swedish astronaut who is part of the crew. I saw it live at about 3am, most impressive night launch.

I'd love to have some pictures of a launch as well.

I happened to have one of the local stations going on the t.v. and they stopped things to show the launch so a few people in the neighbourhood ran out to the street to watch. I watched until it seemed to turn to a single point of white light.

Night launches seem much more impressive, even through the clouds.
