No matter what we say , selling a 1100€ smartphone with 60hz nowadays isn’t right

Now I wonder ,will pro motion remain exclusive to the pros ? Same question goes with the macs and the MacBook Air

In how long could we possibly expect to get pro motion on the base model (which is still super super expensive) , or ,at the very least ,some fixed 120hz ?

Probably not till 2030 if we consider the fact that the telephoto camera was introduced with the iPhone 7 Plus and still hasn’t found its way down to the regular/base line up. I would expect a basic telephoto camera before 120hz.

No, it won‘t. Apple has decided that it‘s one of the key features of their Pro devices. Look at the iPad Pro, which has had 120 Hz since 2017. The base and even the Air still come with a 60 Hz refresh rate even today, five years later.

I also highly doubt they‘ll ever go halfway with the standard models and give them 90 Hz screens. The most likely outcome is that they‘ll keep 60 Hz for the base iPhone and reserve the 120 Hz for the Pro.

Agree, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I also fully expect that if USB-C iPhone were to become a reality, it will also be limited to the Pro models. I hope I'm wrong, but I can just see Apple saying that USB-C will provide revolutionary data transfer speeds for the professionals. I'll then throw up 😆.

you're wrong because if it gets usb-c it'll be because the law forces apple to do so .

I really really hope I'm wrong and that, as you say, regulators step in to force them to. But my motto is expecting the worst and hoping for the best. My faith in Apple and trust that regulators will get it done is nil. We'll find out in a year, or two, or three... 😁

All iPhone 15 models will get USBC, but, knowing Apple, they will make the Pros special. The normal iPhone 15 models will probably just get USBC at 5 Gbps, and the Pros will probably get thunderbolt speeds "Good Morning! We know our pro customers love speed, so today we are announcing a 80x increase in speed for the Pro iPhones! This is a huge leap in performance only accomplished with our advanced silicon of the A17." - Tim Cook probably

To be honest I think it’s poor form of Apple to still only be offering a dual camera system on the standard iPhones at this point. It feels very dated and I realise it’s only done to differentiate it to the Pro’s, but it’s an industry demand now I would say.

Agreed. And with the macro capabilities added to the 13 pros telephoto and the increased zoom capabilities and pixel sensors of the 14 pros telephoto I feel like apple could have given the standard 14 at least a basic telephoto like found on the 11 or 12 pro since there’d still be a big feature difference between that and the 14 pros telephoto.
