Starting to use sidecar more while waiting on an appropriate stand or keyboard with my 12.9 IPP.
My normal setup is MBP to right of a 38" LG UQ QHD+ screen, with the IPP sitting just below the center of the LG.
The LG is normally the 'primary' display, meaning it has the dock at the bottom of the screen with my apps, etc.

When I add the iPad in Sidecar mode, it moves the doc to the iPad.
I haven't seen any way to change this, and display prefs still shows the dock as on the LG.

Any way to force this to stay on the LG?

Not sure if on the bottom of the screen. You can always set the dock to display on the left or right

I have a similar setup, though my laptop is to the left of the primary display. I ended up moving the dock to the right side of the screen when using Sidecar. I share your frustration, it’s the only thing which seems wrong with Sidecar - otherwise it is a great feature. If anyone knows a better solution, please do post it.

Do you have the ipad underneath your monitor in Settings -> Displays -> Arrangement? Even though my iPad is physically underneath my montior, I keep it to the right of it in the Arrangement settings and the dock stays on my monitor (and I keep the dock on the bottom), not the iPad, for this very reason.

Apple should iron out Sidecar in iPadOS 14, but that's just my opinion.

Different things. The iPad 'helper bar'/sidebar can se set to left or right, the 'Touch Bar clone' top or bottom, but additionally, I have the MacOS full dock, with apps/icons etc...above the emulated touch bar and it's driving me nuts.

Needing another option for where the MacOS Dock goes...

Right now what I get is more like this (with some quick help from screenshot.. :) )

And just lol/scream...if I have the arrangement like this - which is how I ACTUALLY have them physically laid out..

The dock is then on the iPad Pro and ignoring the set to primary in Arrangement..
If I move it to the side or the top, it stays where I want it and where it shows in Displays / Arrangement.

I can work around it, but yeah - I'd call it a bug...

Thanks for pointing that out!

Have you tried the settings via dock itself? I am using one external monitor next to my macbook pro and I wanted the dock to show on my my external monitor. I went to settings>dock>position on screen>right and it went vertical on my external monitor which is standing right to my macbook. I hope my answer will help you.
