M1 base MBA here along with 12.9" iPad Pro.

No matter what I do, sidecar just won't work. It doesn't' show up in control panel via wireless or wired. Just doesn't exist.

Same wifi network, same iCloud logins, etc...just not working at all.

Anyone else?

Edit: Thanks for the responses. Wonder what the deal is? Hopefully it's not RMA time.

Works on my mini running 11.0.1 w/ iPad Pro on 14.2. It’s replacing a 2014 MBP so this was the first time I’ve ever gotten to try so I cant compare to prior macs. Saw the option in control center, clicked and theres my desktop on my iPad.

Works fine with my MBA M1/16GB/1TB and 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, both up to date with OS. Scaled res on MBA automatically switches back to default when enabling Sidecar initially but setting the MBA back to scaled works fine.

Base MBA with a previous gen iPad Pro it works fine for me. My first sidecar experience, my last MBP was a 2013 and didn't support it.

So I figured it out. Had a hunch that it was my iPad and something weird with the network settings, so I reset all iPad network settings (via the reset menu) and boom, works.

Got lucky...I was ready to re-format both devices. Thankful I didn't have to do that since the M1 seems shaky with re-formatting at the moment.

If you land here from a google search from the future, start with this!

another fix for anyone seeing this is to sign out of iCloud on your iPad. I had to do this and it fixed it once id signed back in.

My issue was that I hadn't "trusted" the iPad from the M1 MacBook Air yet. Connected the iPad via USB-C, then opened Finder and clicked on the iPad to trust it. Now it appears in the sidecar preferences.
