I've been using wireless Sidecar with my M1 MBA - and after a time (this has happened twice now) - WIFI drops completely on the MBA, meaning no longer connected to the internet at all, and of course, the iPad drops the connection. Is this a known bug on Macs in general, or is this a new M1 specific firmware issue with WIFI?

I have been using Sidecar on my M1 MBA and iPad Pro for the past two days now, and just today I ran into this issue. However, Sidecar was still running? So it was either a problem with my Mac or my router.

Yeah, I had that too, I was using Sidecar for Safari, and still able to scroll, but when I tried to load a new webpage - it said "not connected" - and I looked at the WIFI indicator and it had no signal strength at all - but I was still wirelessly connected to Sidecar to the iPad - so definitely a very strange bug. Second time Sidecar fully disconnected and was not functioning.

Weird, I will definitely look to see if this happens again. This is my first Mac so I figured it was an issue on my end, I'm assuming this problem wasn't prevalent on Catalina?

I've had an iPad for the last year or so, but not a MacOS device, hopefully some attention may come from this issue, but if it's just you and I, then we may be out of luck. I wonder if there is a report function built into MacOS for bugs?

I'd bet it's not just you and I! It is a brand new OS version so we'll probably see similar reports of this issue soon.

Hm, that's a good question...I'd have to look around to see if there is a report function built in. Until then, I trust Apple to fully iron out all the kinks!

I'm still having this problem. Sidecar starts a bit hesitantly (can't connect to ipad error maybe one or two times, then connects cleanly). But after a while, eg 10 mins, my MBA M1 running 11.2.2 seems to lose it's wifi. When I reconnect I strguggle to get sidecar going again (can't connect to ipad).

I too have this issue, though not on an M1. Sidecar screen works fine, but no internet otherwise. Super frustrating. Running 11.3 on my 2018 Mac mini, iPadOS 14.6.

Still an issue nearly a year on! Is there anywhere we can report this more directly to Apple, as this is a significant issue for me!
