hi guys, just come up against this nifty little Pro optimised app - Sidefari

It basically lets you run 2 separate sessions of Safari together side by side in multitasking to a basic degree - Safari main acts as normal, Sidefari acts as a single separate page or web window, independant than main safari.

this is most useful for 2 simultaneous web pages open side by side. or 2 separate facebook accounts open together. or 2 separate email accounts both open side by side....
 
Reviews are pretty mediocre at the moment; what is the advantage of paying $.99 for this versus just having a second, free browser installed for when this type of functionality is required?

I got it for free, used it, and said "eh". Unless you're really set on having the look of two safari windows open side by side, it's really not worth it.

That's kind of the impression that I get also. Not that there's inherently anything wrong with the app; I just don't see what the ROI is on something so specific when free full-fledged browsers will offer basically the same results.

Needing to "send" any website I wanted to see over to the app is what killed it for me. The top bar not shrinking away when I scrolled was the nail in the coffin.
 
Nice little program, but I thought about it and I rarely have the need to view two web pages at the same time. And for the rare time that I need this feature, I can use the built in web browser in Documents by Readdle and split the screen with Safari.

Also, I'd bet in iOS 10 we will see this feature built into the Safari app, and possibly the email app (I think those two apps would be the only ones where I could see finding it useful to open either 2 web pages side by side or two emails side by side). And perhaps Microsoft could update word and excel to do the same thing as I could see finding it useful there. I don't think you need to open 2 instances of the app, I just think the app should have a split screen function built into a single instance of the app.

iCab can display two windows side-by-side. And Safari + Chrome or iCab can do what the OP's app does for free.
 
take your pick i guess.

i like safari and 2 safari windows open for me is a better option than 2 separate browsers open. just my preference :)
 
I use puffin browser, which you can run side by side with safari, fastest and best I've seen and runs flash flawlessly
 
I like this one. For me the biggest advantage is that since it is a Safari View Controller it supports Ad blockers. Also, the history will be shared, it will ask to open apps when clicking links instead of catapulting me out of the app etc.

Big thumbs up.

Just checked out iCab and it looks interesting. It had great reviews too. Perhaps it was free at some point in time but it, currently, costs $1.99. I have a question. Does it import your bookmarks from Safari? I'd love to find a good iOS browser that would import all of my bookmarks from Safari.

TheiCab reviews were so good, I decided to buy it. I read that bookmarks can be imported but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help?

I found out how to import my bookmarks from Safari to iCab. So far, I like iCab. The options and features seem to surpass those offered with Safari. Now, if I could add it as my default browser . .
