ok, i was typing out an email using sierra mail from my dock. i was being interrupted a few times so it took me a little while to get it complete and sent. now, i also have google gmail account and went over there to check on something after i was finished. i noticed google gmail showed i had 38 drafts (from the email i was typing in sierra mail). the drafts shown were all from the same email i was typing in sierra mail. i hope that is making sense. anyway, i just deleted all, but, wondering if anyone might know what is going on with the google gmail?

i actually had the same problem with apple mail when i purchased my MacBook pro back in early 2014. i had to call apple and they fiddled and fiddled with me----thought we had it fixed once, but, it kept rearing its "ugly head" (showing huge number of repeated drafts when i would type emails). not seeing any problem with sierra mail now, but, google gmail is doing it.

Same thing happens with mine. I'm not sure why it's doing it, maybe something to do with Mail saving a draft to prevent loss of the message in the case of a system or power failure.

Are you Drafts settings for the account like this?:

And do you have the proper Gmail Drafts folder selected for Mail>Mailbox>Use This Mailbox As>Drafts Mailbox?
