Sierra unable to find Logitech bluetooth mouse

I have an MX Master mouse (latest version) with Logitech Options (also latest). The mouse is bluetooth and have 3 switches, allowing you to use the mouse with 3 different devices (Mac, Windows, Android, etc.). It was working just fine on MacBook Pro 13" and MacBook Air, both with Yosemite. I can press switch 1 for MBP 13" and switch 2 for MBA.

I have another MacBook Pro 15" that I upgraded from El Capitan to macOS Sierra. I tried to add MX Master to this MacBook Pro but it could NOT find the mouse.

I tried rebooting the machines, turn off/on bluetooth and reset the mouse, but to no avail.

Anyone have issue adding bluetooth mouse or this particular model (MX Master) to computer upgraded to macOS Sierra?

You should be using the Logitech Options software not the Control Center with the new MX mice. Are you sure you have the latest MX mouse?

I have the latest MX Master (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/mx-master). Bought it because it allows 3 separate BT connections. However, it doesn't seem want to talk to a Sierra machine..

It WILL work with El Capitan and Yosemite, though.

It should work in Sierra. Are you trying to connect via Bluetooth? I've had trouble with BT as well. It connects using the Logitech USB Unifying Receiver.

You might need to uninstall the software then reinstall.

It should work in Sierra. Are you trying to connect via Bluetooth? I've had trouble with BT as well. It connects using the Logitech USB Unifying Receiver.

You might need to uninstall the software then reinstall.

Yes, via Bluetooth. The coolest thing about the MX Master is that it supports multi-connection via Bluetooth. I can press switch #1 and connect to Mac #1 via Bluetooth, switch #2 and connect to Mac #2 via Bluetooth and so on. If I use the USB receiver, it'll defeat the purpose of using the multi-connection via Bluetooth.

I will try uninstalling the software and see what happen.

Bluetooth and USB3 interfere with each other on some poorly shielded Mac models. Crummy USB3 cables or a cheap hub can also impact Bluetooth performance. Look it up online for your particular model.

I am afraid you are right. The same MX Master mouse will not connect via Bluetooth to other Sierra-based Macbooks. I tested this with 2 other Sierra-based MacBooks (MBP 15" and MBP 13") - so it's a total 3 MacBook that won't work.

However, I also tested the MX Master with 2 other MacBooks, both running Yosemite (MBA 13" and MBP 15") and it WILL CONNECT via bluetooth.

I think I can safely say it's Sierra causing problem with this specific mouse.

Dang, I will have to stick with Yosemite first till Apple/Logitech acknowledge and fix the problem.

Definitly Sierra problem, as tested above. I've always used Logitech mouse (MX Anywhere, MX Anywhere 2, MX Master and m505b) with Bluetooth. My laptop is not connected to any USB hub. All USB cables I connected are straight from Apple (iPads and iPhones). Never had problem until Sierra.

Resetting Bluetooth on the MacBook might help:
Access the Hidden Bluetooth Debug Menu in Mac OS X for Hardware Module Reset

1. From the OS X desktop, hold down the Shift+Option keys and then click on the Bluetooth menu item to reveal the hidden Debug menu
2. Select “Reset the Bluetooth module” from the Debug menu list

Oooh, I never knew about this. I'll try.

All Sierra MacBooks are upgraded, so something may have went awry. Will try the reset tonight.
