That thing is going to look lovely on my soon to be had D300. I have been considering going all 3rd party with my fast glass anyway... so I may pick this baby up with the money I save. Although... I don't think I can give up the build quality of the 17-55 DX Nikkor just yet, unless Nikon intros a new version.

Yeah... I was searching for a price but haven't found one yet. If it's under $600 then it will be in my bag, if not then I might just go for the Nikon 10.5 which is $550 or so. I am eyeballing the Sigma 10-20 as my wide angle of choice, and maybe even the 50-150 Sigma to replace my heavy as day 70-200 until I can get my hands on that amazing D3.
