How different are specialized sign design software from print design software? FlexiSign or CorelDraw (sign industry standards) compared to Illustrator.

If you are cutting vinyl signs the cutter needs to never cut a letter. Normally in print work a red vector drawn across a red solid area would never show. Likewise when two solid areas are abutted you want the sign cutter to cut it as one piece with no cut between the areas. This is the main difference

So basically it's more of a printing software than a design software. Like a prepress/preflight for print design, but for cutters. Hmmm…very interesting.

Has anyone here used FlexiSign Starter?
