I keep seeing this guy named Erik Siivel and his website which list two products: an iMac G3 and iBook G3 Clamshell modded with Intel Core i7 CPUs and modern components (similar to my project). However the site currently says he's updating his catalog and both the iMac and iBook are currently unavailable. I do have reason to believe why my bulls**t detector's tripped, but he has footage of the computers on his channel
