Hi all!
Noticed something strange on my MacBook Pro 14: no silent click is available for the integrated trackpad, but when I connect the new Magic Trackpad, it does have the silent click option.
I've read Apple removed this option on the new generation trackpads, but, isn't the new Magic Trackpad also new generation?
Quite confusing...

'silent clicking' shows here for my intel macbook trackpad. anyone else? a silicon issue? seems... odd, if.

EDIT: just a thought; what if you remove the magic trackpad from bluetooth (u can add it back later), reboot. does the option return for the built-in trackpad? just a thought...

Are you referring to the click settings? Can you show me the options you see? I have a MBP 16" 2021. Here are the options. I didn't know a 'silent click' ever existed.

I see the option on mu M1 Air but it doesn’t actually silence anything. Another Monterey bug.

To my knowledge, the "silent clicking" was an option for MacBook Pros 13/15 from 2015, but it was removed from Macbook Pros from 2016 onward. From 2016 - 2018 the only Macs to have silent clicking were MacBook Pros from 2015 and MacBooks from 2015 - 2017. However, the silent clicking option did make a return when they updated the MacBook Air in 2018 with the Force Touch Trackpad. So, in conclusion, 2016 - 2021 MacBook Pros 13/15/16 and later do not have silent clicking. MacBook Pro 2015, Macbook 2015-2017, and MacBook Air Intel 2018 - Intel/M1 2020 have silent clicking. However, with the recent release of Monterey, the "silent clicking" is not working (for some) correctly, but at least for me, on macOS Big Sur 11.6.1, it is working as it should be on my M1 MacBook Air.

Just realized silent clicking was gone on my new 16" MBP as well. That sucks!
