Silent mode

Is there a way to have the iPhone 3G in silent mode without vibrate on? I can't figure it out.

This feature was really handy with my motorola Q while in class. Some professors are annoyed by cell phones and can hear even the slightest vibration.

Go to settings...sounds...turn off vibrate on the menu.

Go to Settings > Sounds > Under Silent there's the option to turn on and off the vibrate.
