These are the only two colors I am considering

Do you think the sides of space black would hold up as well as any other previous year non-silver?

Silver sides probably still a scratch-and-sniff? Even if so, it looks sweet still.

But SB. oi.

I was just going to ask similar. I have a silver X, never had a case, it has rubs (looks like just worn down from in and out of pocket) and marks on the edges but nothing major and can probably be buffed out if needed. Are the coloured models like the black just a coating which will show silver underneath if scratched or from ware from taking in and out of pocket.

What have you used/liked before?

Read this book recently that we're more likely to like what we've liked previously, rather then be able to grow to like something new. So I'd suggest not switching just for the excitement, unless there's a good reason - like size or a feature.

If it helps, the black on my iPhone X has never flaked off or become exposed. And there are hardly any hairline scratches too. Only marks were from when I clumsily dropped it without a case - but that's going to show up on any colour.

Ive always had white/silver iPhones apart from the 3GS. The reason for a change is because there is now more choice, had silver for so long a change might be nice, but also because of the bigger cameras and the iPhones looking a bit more polished I'm even thinking about a case...

I went silver since my 12 pro is graphite(too similar to space black) and my XS before that was silver with the white back which was the best looking phone I ever owned..

Darker color hides cameras better, with the bigger cameras of the 14 pro, white seems to make 3 eyes way too visible

You can't go wrong with either. I chose SB because you can use any color case and it pops. I guess the same could be said with silver. If you have one specific color right now, maybe mix it up this time.

I've had silver 12 Pro Max for the last 2 years and one thing that I wish I though about before purchasing is how it will look in a case - for Apple's leather/silicone cases there is a thin silver bezel between the phone and the case which became a bit annoying, which is why I'll get the black phone for 14 PM.
